Open (All ages) and Scholastic (12th Grade or younger) sections available!

This is a 3 round, unrated, scholastic tournament that is open to all ages. Parents are welcome to stay and watch, but not required to do so, as we are staffing the event with enough instructors to keep students supervised between games. Pizza and water will be provided to all competitors, and various prizes will be handed out. (See below for more info.)

Tournament Details:

Format: 3 Round Swiss System

Time Control: 15 minutes with a 0 second delay

Sections: Scholastic (17 or younger, unrated), Adult (16+, unrated)

All standard tournament rules apply.

Tiebreakers will be handled via a round of blitz games at the end.

Scholastic:

1st Place: Light Up Chess Trophy

Best Intermediate Player: Chess Trophy

Best Beginner Player: Golden Dragon Knight Coin

Lifetime Prizes:

We will track all games played by competitors at these tournaments, and hand out prizes based on their total games played and total points gained (wins are 1 point, draws are half a point).

3 Games Played: Pawn Keychain

10 Games Played: Customized Chess Trophy - Silver

10 Points Gained: Customized Chess Trophy - Gold

20 Games Played: Silver Queen Trophy

25 Points Gained: Golden King Trophy

40 Games Played: To be determined.

Open:

50% of Open entry fees. Prize may be for 1st exclusively; or split between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, depending on number of sign-ups. 1st place will always receive the largest prize.
